Fallen Angels and UFOs

A Maze of Misconception

One of the more prominent topics in the “alien agenda” debate is a common connection to the “fallen angels”, the Nephilim, of the Bible.  This concept has become so entrenched in common belief that few ever ask who these fallen ones are.  With very little research, this entire concept collapses under the weight of simple truth found in scripture.  There are angels that “fell” or, were actually forced from “heaven” in the Bible, but they were not the angels of  Noah’s Flood; and they didn’t fall from the kind of heaven most believe they did.

Who are the Nephilim?
It is not easy to find the origins of the commonly accepted belief about who the “fallen angels” were, but it certainly is related to an oft-repeated mistranslation of a simple Hebrew word.  For decades many theorists have referred to the word, often written as Nephilim, as the angels who fell from grace after they mated with women, just prior to the Flood.  The actual Hebrew word appearing is “nphiyl”, pronounced nef-eel’ and has a very different meaning.
Any Hebrew Lexicon, (dictionary) will show the meaning of the word “nphiyl, or nphil” is: properly, a feller, i.e. a bully or tyrant.  It is generally referred to from the verse, Genesis 6:4, “There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.”   The word nphiyl is the Hebrew word translated into “giants”.  For this research paper we will use the common word Nephilim.
The first part of this verse is a pronouncement that beings called “giants” were on the Earth, while the second part explains how they came into existence; by the mating of angels with women.  Here, is where a very important distinction gets blurred; the giants, or Nephilim, are not the sons of God, the angels, who mated with women, but the offspring of that disastrous union.
We find many incorrect interpretations of the Hebrew word Nephilim from many sources claiming it means: “those who fell from the sky, heaven, or the stars”, or “fallen ones”.  If there be any doubt about the true meaning of the original word Nephilim in the Bible we only need to go to the very next time that word is used in the Bible:
“And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.”  (Numbers 13 33)
And, this description of an actual “giant” king: “For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.” (Deuteronomy 3:11)
The measurement of this bed is 14 feet long and 6 feet wide!   King Og’s height is estimated to be 12 feet or taller.   If one is to accept the biblical facts, then the giants, the Nephilim, are not fallen angels, but very  human-like beings of great stature.

Who are the Fallen Angels?
If the Nephilim, the giants, were not the fallen angels, what happened to them?  The description of the giants, how they were created, and everything else about them is only found in a single verse in the King James Bible.  We must go to another book, which was written by Enoch, a man so close to God that he was taken before his death, in order to get a more detailed perspective.  The Book of Enoch was known and used before the original Bible was compiled by the first theologian, Eusebius, of the Universal, (Catholic), Church established by the Emperor Constantine in the 4th Century.  And, it is quoted in the Bible.  It is in this “lost book” that we find a very detailed account of the events just before, and results of the Great Flood, including the angels, the giants and, what happened to them both.  The Book of Enoch is available online from several sources.  The following is what Enoch has to say about these “fallen” angels and their current status.

The Angels and Mankind
The concept that these angels, who bred with humans, “fell” from “heaven” is not backed in the Bible or the writings of Enoch.  Enoch describes the angels in such close contact with mankind that they actually taught men previously unknown knowledge.  This is a practical explanation about why there is no apparent evolution of early culture; just a sudden burst of knowledge with no evident progression of learning.  It not only seems that our ancestors were taught advanced skills, but the records of many ancient cultures testify to that reality.
“Watchers have disclosed and have taught their sons. And the whole earth has been corrupted  through the works that were taught by Azazel: to him ascribe all sin.” (Enoch 10:8- 9)
“and they taught them charms and enchantments, and the cutting of roots, and made them acquainted with plants”  (Enoch 7:1- 2)
“Semjaza taught enchantments, and root-cuttings, ‘Armaros the resolving of enchantments, Baraqijal (taught) astrology, Kokabel the constellations, Ezeqeel the knowledge of the clouds, Araqiel the signs of the earth, Shamsiel the signs of the sun, and Sariel the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried, and their cry went up to heaven” (Enoch  8:3)

The Inbreeding Begins
Certain angels actually organized a plot to inbreed with human women and swore an evil oath to seal the devastating conspiracy.  This mirrors the description in Genesis.
“And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto them beautiful and comely daughters.  And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: ‘Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men.” (Enoch 6:1-2)

Giant, Cannibal Mutants are Born
Giants were born from these unholy unions and they apparently had appetites that matched their size. These hybrid monsters ate all man could produce and, when man could not produce enough, they began to eat the humans that raised them, all they could acquire from nature, and eventually, each other. Worldwide anthropological and historical documentation, as well as, the biblical record, testify to the existence of giants.
“And they became pregnant, and they bare great giants, whose height was three thousand ells: Who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind. And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another’s flesh, and drink the blood.” (Enoch 7:2- 6)
The result of this devastating corruption was the reason God chose to flood the planet to destroy the giants.

The Giants are Killed in the Flood
When the flood killed the giants, their spirits separated from their bodies as spirit beings, whose sole purpose is to torture and devastate man until the judgment day.  These are the beings called “demons”, or devils that Jesus encountered in his day, and the Jesuit Order of the Catholic Church still battle in our modern times.  The spirits of the illicit offspring, the dead giants, are bound to, and are still infecting the planet.
“And now, the giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon the earth, and on the earth shall be their dwelling. Evil spirits have proceeded from their bodies; because they are born from men and from the holy Watchers is their beginning and primal origin; they shall be evil spirits on earth, and evil spirits shall they be called.  As for the spirits of heaven, in heaven shall be their dwelling, but as for the spirits of the earth which were born upon the earth, on the earth shall be their dwelling.  And the spirits of the giants afflict, oppress, destroy, attack, do battle, and work destruction on the earth, and cause trouble: they take no food, but nevertheless hunger and thirst, and cause offences. And these spirits shall rise up against the children of men and against the women, because they have proceeded from them.”  (Enoch 15:8-12)

Who are the Real Fallen Angels?
There is nothing in the Bible about the fate of the angels or the giants they spawned, but the only other source we have, Enoch, shows that the remnant of the giants, the devils or demons, are bound to Earth.  And, it is clear, from Enoch’s testimony that the angels themselves are imprisoned on Earth and not flying in our skies.
If we are to assume that there is some evil force connected to the God of the Bible flying in our skies, we now see that it is not the Nephilim, the angels who bred them, or the spirits of the dead giants, the demons.  That leaves the only other evil beings spoken of in the Bible; Satan and his angels.  Satan is not described in the Bible or in Enoch’s writings as having any connection to the angels, who produced the Nephilim.
Many assume that Satan fell sometime between the point when God created angels, a time not specified, and the temptation of Eve, but the Bible relates a completely different time frame.

The Lucifer Myth
Contrary to popular belief, the individual known as “Lucifer” does not exist, except for the singular presence of that name in Isaiah 14:12, which was added by the translators to the original text of the King James Bible.  It would require an entire article to explain this misconception, but theologians and Hebrew historians accept that, not only was this word added, but the description of the individual described in Isaiah is actually, the King of Babylon and not Satan.  A study of the word Lucifer on the internet will provide a more detailed explanation of this paradigm.
Likewise, the attribution of the description of the King of Tyrus in Ezekiel 28:12-18 to Satan is also known by theologians and Hebrew historians as incorrect.  The description begins with the words “Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus”.  Many try to associate these descriptions with Satan’s fall by claiming he was the “power behind the throne”.  In the simplest of terms, the descriptions of the characters in Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 are directly concerned with the temporal rulers of Babylon and Tyre, and not Satan and his angels.  What most do not know is that Satan’s actual fall to Earth is clearly described in the Bible.

The “Grounding” of Satan and His Angels
The 12th chapter of The Revelation contains the description of a woman giving birth to a child, who Satan attempts to kill.  He fails, is engaged in battle by the forces of the Archangel Michael and is defeated, and “cast” to the Earth with his angels.  Here is the event:
“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.  And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven..  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:5-9)
The mistaken belief is that this battle occurs just before Satan is imprisoned, when Jesus takes control of the Earth.  A simple reading of this event will show that the woman is giving birth to a child that will “rule all nations with a rod of iron”.  That child, by scriptural definition, is Jesus, the Christ, and the woman is Mary.  The woman is described as fleeing to safety “into the wilderness”, while Joseph was told to take Mary and the baby Jesus to Egypt for safety.  This event occurs at the time of the birth of Jesus, not at the end of the end times.  It is clear that Satan “fell” from the sky some time around 4 BC.

Heaven is the Sky, Not a Divine Retirement Home
To put this in perspective, one must understand the proper meaning of the word “heaven” in true scriptural terms.  All these clouds, whirlwinds, pillars, vessels, chariots, and pavilions are seen hovering in, coming down, from or rising into heaven.  The thunders, trumpets, and voices described are all heard from heaven.  All the men, angels, and glowing beings that ascend or descend, do so either to, or from, heaven.  All the lightning, streams of fire, brimstone, and fiery arrows have their origin in heaven.  Even wars are fought in heaven.  The word heaven is used over 700 times in the Bible. In the Old Testament ‘heaven’ is translated almost exclusively from two different words. The Hebrew word ‘shamayim’, which is defined as ‘the sky’, the place, where the clouds and stars are, or ‘shamayin’, the Aramaic word of the same definition.  The New Testament defines ‘heaven’ from the Greek word ‘ouranos’ meaning ‘the sky’ in all but 7 instances.
In simple terms; anywhere the word heaven appears, sky can be properly used.  The concepts that “the meek shall inherit the Earth” (Matt. 5:5), Jesus will “rule the nations” (Rev. 12:5-9), and those with Jesus “shall reign with him a thousand years” (Rev. 20:6), show that Jesus does not rule in some ethereal place, but on the planet Earth.

Satan and His Angels Banned from the Sky
The battle described in Revelation 12 takes place in “heaven”, and he and his angels are banned from “heaven”.  The Greek word translated into heaven in both these cases is “ouranos”, pronounced oo-ran-os’, and means; the sky.
We find the angels in “heaven” rejoicing that Satan is no longer with them and warning the inhabitants of Earth that he is now down with them there: “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” (Rev. 12:12).
And, Satan now goes out first to get Mary and the child, and then make war with the rest of humanity.
“And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.” (Rev. 12:13), and “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed” (Rev. 12:12).
Satan “was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Rev. 12:5-9) and “neither was their place found any more in heaven.” (Rev. 12:5-9) The clear chronological reference to Jesus in the Revelation time frame shows this occurred just over 2000 years ago.

In Conclusion
This research bears witness to some very serious facts, which are ignored by the proponents that support the concept that UFOs are piloted by “fallen angels” or Satan and his angels.  It demonstrates that the angels of the flood era are imprisoned under the Earth until the Day of Judgment, and the sprits of their dead offspring, the giants or the “Nephilim”, are bound to Earth and that neither is flying around in our skies.  It also shows that the “Nephilim” are not “fallen angels”.  If one does not accept the testimony of Enoch, which provides evidence to some of these conclusions; there is nothing “biblical” to contradict this testimony.
This research shows solid evidence that Satan and his angels are grounded to the planet. The great battle in heaven, so often cited as proof of Satan’s ability to fly, occurred just over 2000 years ago.  And, there is nothing biblical to demonstrate that a change has occurred in the grounded status of him or his angels.  If God placed that restriction on him then, either he is still grounded, or he is more powerful than God; something no Christian would dare to challenge.
When considering the reality that the concept of “satanic aliens” is built on a shaky or non-existent foundation, and that an “Independence Day” future may not be our inescapable destiny, it might be easier to accept a much different paradigm. Could it be that Satan is using fear of UFOs to prepare people for an even more devious deception than satanic UFOs trying to pull the people from their pews, or steal their babies? If God is in control of the planet he created, as well he should be, he also controls what beings come to, and from, this planet. That being a logical conclusion, it would also be valid to consider that those UFOs in our skies are the same dark clouds, great whirlwinds, and fiery chariots of God, described in the Bible. And, perhaps, when “they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”, as Jesus said he would return, and the rumors spread about this being a satanic threat, some will think twice before accepting it as truth.
A specific internet search for the phrase “fallen angels ufos” returns over 500,000 hits on Google. This shows that this subject is very prominent in mainstream thought.  In every case this research has examined, none of the theorists addressed, or even mentioned, the facts considered in this presentation. We hope that this research has shed some light on the clear misconceptions about what the Bible actually presents on the subject of fallen, or satanic, angels in relation to flight, and UFOs. Certainly, when those reading this research hear the “evil alien” theorists making general claims about the Nephilim or Fallen Angels, they will be better-informed about the subject and the maze of misconceptions surrounding it.
