The Questionable Nature Of Time
There is No New Thing Under the Sun
The words of the Preacher, the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
Vanity of vanities, saith the Preacher, vanity of vanities; all is vanity.
What profit hath a man of all his labour which he taketh under the sun?
One generation passeth away, and another generation cometh: but the earth abideth for ever.
The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.
The wind goeth toward the south, and turneth about unto the north; it whirleth about continually, and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.
All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
All things are full of labour; man cannot utter it: the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing.
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Ecclesiates 1:1 – 9
Life Time
The words you are now reading were in the future before you began and by the time you get to the end of this sentence the concepts that pass through your mind will be the past a millisecond after you read this last word. The only rational thing we can say about the nature of time is that it passes and is only temporary, however even this is subject to scrutiny. Add to this is the phenomenon of “deja vu”, a strange feeling that time is repeating itself, and prophecy, which if correct, is a vision of future time. In times of great stress “your entire life”, in full detail, can literally pass before your eyes. The normal movement through life sometimes produces the experience of being lost in thought, which makes the real world dissolve. And what is memory but a mental recall of time past?
Time Distortion
In an overview of UFO sightings, documentaries, and movies, most especially those dealing with close encounters, and abductions, there is one element almost always present, time distortion. Watches stop, reverse, or spin wildly ahead, and hours of experience happen in only minutes, or even split seconds. And the opposite also occurs with days, months, and even years of human time lost in the blink of an eye, as though time had stopped in the mind, but seemed to rush by in what we call the “real world”. Is there some ethereal black hole that swallows up time or some unnatural force that lengthens and stretches it out? Do UFOs project an energy field of some kind that causes this or something in their very presence that alters time? Or is there another explanation? Some links to UFOs and time:

Freedom from Time
If the bright clouds, lofty thrones, great glowing whirlwinds and the aerial chariots of fire in the Bible qualify as UFOs the beings that piloted them certainly had an unorthodox view of time as well. There are two verses that bear this out the first one being an Old Testament concept:
Psalms 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
From this verse we can determine that human time passes very quickly for these eternal beings. From the last phrase we can also determine that a thousand years actually is not a finite number. During Old Testament times the “night” was divided into three watches from sunset to sunrise, thus making one watch an approximate 4-hour period. Although this begins to shed light on the possibility that time is in truth without relevance to the Gods it definitely debunks the often-specific 1 to 365,000 ratio often used in certain numerical equations related to prophecy theories. Another verse sheds further on what appears to be the timeless nature of these superior beings:
2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Here we can either find confusion or enlightenment. We again find reference to time passing very quickly for these beings, but it seems to be contradicted by the phrase, which states that human time also passes very slowly for God. How can this be possible unless these beings, due to their eternal nature, do not dwell in a state in which time is a factor? This could mean that they are either free to roam through time or that time is purely a human concept? The incredible accuracy of biblical prophecy and predictions of the human condition we see in this modern age leaves but one conclusion. One, or both, of these concepts is true.
Does God’s Presence Suspend Time?
Deuteronomy 8:4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
Deuteronomy 29:5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.
These are the the recorded ages of those who lived before the Flood: Adam 930, Seth 912, Eno 905, Cainan 910, Mahalaleel 895, Jared 962, Enoch 365, Methuselah 969, Lamech 777, and Noah 960. The average age of these men, without Enoch as he was taken up, is 913 years. Immediately after the flood the ages of humans drop dramatically. Before he flooded the Earth God told Noah this: “And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.” (Genesis 6:3)
An Invisible Reality
The Bible very clearly testifies to existence of a very real but very invisible world. Perhaps one of the statements most relevant to the human condition is ridiculed by society and ignored by the church.
2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
The word temporal is taken form proskairos, pronounced pros’-kahee-ros; for the occasion only, i.e. temporary. Paul is literally saying that nothing we see has any permanence.
An Entire Fleet is Cloaked
2 Kings 6:17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Invisibility
An angel is hidden from plain view.
Numbers 22:31 Then the Lord opened the eyes of Balaam, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the way, and his sword drawn in his hand: and he bowed down his head, and fell flat on his face.
The Invisible World
A person would have to lead a very sheltered life, or in a total state of denial to deny the evidence of invisible but very real forces on our planet. Sounds without physical sources, apparitions that appear and then fade to nothing, and objects moving without a visible force to cause it are but the most obvious clues to an invisible world coexisting with the physical reality. Telepathy, voice projection, extrasensory perception, auras, clairaudience, spontaneous human combustion, telekinesis, and out of body experiences add to the evidence of invisible forces.
If one thinks of the normal life experience, without regard to the obvious “paranormal” events, many more invisible forces come to mind. Those instances when a loved one completes sentences for you regularly, the intuition you that kept you from stepping into the path of a speeding car, the deja vu experiences that you are certain are real, hearing your phone ring and knowing not only the party on the line, but the nature of the call before you answer it are but a few. Many other strange events common to the human experience all fit into a paradigm we know exists but can’t detect with the physical senses.
The Concept
Logic would dictate that time to the Elohiym, and time to humans is much different. To state that time seems to be a characteristic restricted to the physical, what we call the “real” world, and holds little relevance to the Gods. The statement by Paul in his second letter to the church at Corinth, “the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” holds a reality, which if understood, gives a whole new meaning to “our” world. What we consider reality is but a passing image; God and the eternal beings of the Bible live in the real, “real world”, not humans.
